I'm off to Germany

This plan to move to Germany has been quite a long time in the making.  Those that are close to me know that I'm big into travel.  I've wanted to live abroad ever since I took my first trip overseas, about 14 or 15 years old.  Basically, the only ways I knew how to be able to live abroad were to either study or work. I wanted to teach english abroad and had my mind set on going to South Korea. Then I had second thoughts because I couldn't get myself together (haha) and thought of going to grad school in Spain, but as we all know, that didn't work out. And in a way I'm sort of glad it didn't because I can actually enjoy my year off and I found a master's program that I think I will enjoy and benefit from more than the program in Spain.  I had been entertaining the idea of being an au pair for a while now but never thought I could actually do it because of finances.  You don't really make much money and I've got beaucoup loans to pay back. But I talked it over with my dad, or rather told him what I was doing.  And so now I'm doing it.  I'll be going to Germany for 9 months as an au pair.  I leave October 4th.  I am SO nervous and excited and overwhelmed! I'll update later with more info on where I'm going and the family I'll be living with.
