Madrid

This weekend, the girls and I took our first trip! We went to Madrid. Thursday morning we left at 7:50am and FINALLY got to Madrid around 2 something because we were on the Regional train that stopped at every city on the way. But the tickets were only 23 euros each way. When we got to Madrid we had to find a hostel.  This lady in a tourist office told us about this one hostel that was either own or monitored by the city of Madrid so we stayed there. It was a good choice because it was clean and really modern inside. There's the front of it!  

Later on in the day, we went to the National Archaeology Museum.  It was a lot smaller than it looks from the outside.  But I guess it was okay.

After the museum, we met up with Charo who introduced us to her gay bartender friend and he made us discounted drinks. It was great! We had dinner at Pizza hut and then called it a night. 

The next day we went to a convent in the morning and the Royal Palace in the afternoon and at night we went back to the gay bartender except that night some dude was having his birthday party there and we were invited to join in on the festivities! Let's just say it was a new experience for all of us.  ;-) 

Saturday morning, we went to the Prado museum but we were all super tired so it wasn't as interesting as it should be.  I think the best part was this painting. 

According to the description, it was of a woman who had a hormonal problem so she grew a beard.  And she is breast-feeding her baby, but to me it just looks kind of cyclops-ish. 

Gah. I'm tired and I can't think of anything else to write. It has been a chore just to get these pictures in their right place haha. One day I'll be able to get it on the first try. But right now I'm in a bar called Cafe Dublin and they have free wifi. Something is telling me that this could possibly be a gay bar because there are naked paintings of women and the bar tender may be a lesbian? But i could be completely wrong. Even if it is, who cares because it's close by, I can use my laptop and it's open until 2am.
