I´m sitting in an locutorio paying 1 euro for each hour of internet and I have about 15 minutes left, so no super detailed posts this evening. Since I´m thinking that only my friends are going to read this I feel that an "about me" entry is unnecessary.
I´m starting this because I´m spending a semester in Valencia to hopefully become the bomb diggity at Spanish so that in the near future I can help the Mexicans and Ecuadorians with their immigration issues or right the wrongs that may have been done to them. If you´re my friend and are reading this, you probably already know this too.
So I´ve been here for, what... 4 days? Everything is completely different from America and even than the other city in Spain that I spent time in back in high school.
-The water doesn´t get too hot
-Everything is expensive (internet, food, water, electricity, gas, etc etc)
-We have internet in my house but its a cable modem and apparently doesn´t really work according to my ´madre´
-The computer keyboard is completely different so i dont know how to really do much. It took me 20 minutes to figure out how to access the ampersand (@).
Let me stop complaining. I´m very thankful to have the opportunity to be here. And on the upside, my host mom is pretty cool. She likes to talk and is very fashionable; she always has curlers in her hair. I live close to the centro historico which is where all the cool stuff is and all the good bars and discotecs. I´m not too far from the school, a short bus ride or a long relaxing walk. I have a cell phone and I can call to the US for .18 euro cents per minute after 8pm. You can do the math to translate that to US cents.
My time is running out! I hope to eventually post pictures here so that mi gente can see what I´m seeing on a daily basis!
In the spirit of Spain I made my blogger name in Spanish too.
