Most ROMANTIC valentine's day weekend EVER!

Friday: Normally we don't have classes on Friday, but this day we did. Which really was not enjoyable. But it didn't matter because that night we found the botellon! Botellon for you non Spain aficionados is basically one giant pregame in a public area. People are drinking drinking drinking and smoking smoking smoking (weed). And blasting music from their super tiny cars. It's a cheap way to get drunk: your group buys the licker, mixers and cups and then you just go wild. That night, we made some friends with a group of guys who spoke english really well. One of the guys has family in LA. But anyway, after we were sufficiently sauced we went to this discoteca called Indiana. It was kind of expensive to get in, but it came with a free drink! And they were playing good dance music. Normally they only play techno/ electronica, but not here! They played the apple bottom jeans song :-)

When we were about to leave, my friend comments on the hairstyle of this one bartender. It was this huge afro, think Erykah Badu's fro wig. My friends didn't think it was real, so I went up to try to ask him (and it was real) it was love at first sight! haha. We had a small chat about how we liked each other's hair and then he kept wanting to give me kisses (on the cheek). We're getting married next week.

Valentine's Day
...is dumb. I saw too many displays of love. Some guy had spraypainted "Te Quiero Cristina" on the sidewalk. And I saw this guy carrying a large bouquet of roses and he was dressed really nice. And I saw two gay boys making out.
But I had a pretty good night too. I went to dinner with Lauren, Adrian and Sarah. We went to "restaurante japones" I literally think that was the name. And I ate real sushi for the first time. I had no idea what kind of fish it was though. Then we went to this American restaurant for desert and they had apple pie with vanilla ice cream. We got really excited because it would have been the first typical sweet that we had consumed but it was such a let down! It was a sorry excuse for apple pie and they had run out of vanilla ice cream. How can you run out of vanilla ice cream!!!???
Overall though the night wasn't a total bore; the company (and food) were good.

  1. Sounds like a fun night, but that sucks about the pie... pie can be hard to get right, thought.
