This Saturday I saw a building on fire.

Actually, it was fireworks. I have never been more afraid of fireworks in my life than on this evening. My friend Lauren and I were walking home from the mall and it was pretty dark out. All of a sudden, the streetlights went out and and the sky started exploding. It was kind of frightening at first because it was just noise and nothing to see but then we witnessed quite possibly the best fireworks show I have ever seen.
I'm not the best photographer, so this is the best that I was able to get. You know how when you are a little kid and you are kind of scared that the sparks from the fireworks are going to land on the ground and burn you? Maybe not. But that's what happened shortly after I took this picture. It started raining fire! Which is really funny actually because we just read a story in my Spanish Literature class about how God made it rain fire on the city of Gomorrah for all of the sins that the people committed. The first fireball fell on this guy's foot and his whole leg caught on fire!!!!!!

I'm just kidding, but it did fall right by his foot on the sidewalk where we were standing and then it was like everyone scattered. I'm not going to lie, I got scared and ran to the other side of the street while dodging traffic. It was really intense. But once I was a safe distance away, I resumed watching.
The finale was great because they had a wheel type apparatus that spun a bunch of fireworks around in a circle and at the last minute, sent them into the sky. It was breathtaking but really surprising for a rainy Saturday night.
I still don't even know why they set them off.
