Fallas se acabo!

Yesterday we had an American dinner consisting of fried chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans. It was delicious. I'm glad Lauren knows how to fry chicken. I think tonight we are going to try our hand at chicken parmesan.
Then we gathered in the living room to watch the falla down the street burn. I'm glad we were up in Lauren's apartment because the street was total chaos!





I'm pretty sure that people had been waiting there for hours. That was just part of the street. There were cars parked on the side with people on top of them. It was quite a site.

And finally with a few fireworks the falla caught on fire! That's the glowing thing in the picture. Unfortunately my camera battery was dead so I had to take these pictures on my iphone :-( It was kind of sad to see all of the hard work that went into this structure suddenly in flames, turned into nothing. I'm glad I got to experience Las Fallas de Valencia but I can definitely understand why people who live here go away during this week.
